JAPAN & EUROPE
Ancient Japanese warriors, known as samurai, utilized cold baths after training or battle to relieve muscle fatigue and promote recovery. William Cullen, a Scottish physician in the early 18th century, began to prescribe various levels of cold water immersion to treat different ailments in the body
